About Marc

Marc was a ventouse delivery so his head was a bit of a dome shape when he was first born. I wasnt in the least bit worried about this and it went away by the time he was about a week old. He always seemed to face the right hand side when awake and asleep. Again I thought nothing of it. I now think he probably had some degree of torticollis. By the time we went for his six week review his head was very flat at the right hand side .

My partner was really worried about it but we took the advice of the "professionals" and left reasured it would "sort itself"and went home to enjoy our gorgeous baby.

His head continued to get more and more flat and his forehead was bulging out at one side. I brought it up at the baby clinic several times but was again fobbed off. By the time we went for his 8 month review they finally relented and referred us to Yorkhill.

Due to the six month waiting list we went to see a private paed at the Nuffield who diagnosed severe plagio. Straight away we got an appt to see Steve Mottram at the Leeds STARband clinic and decided to go for the helmet.

Marc has now completed his treatment and the helmet is now off for good. Getting his helmet fitted was the best decision I have ever made. His head is much more round and the bossing of his forehead is much less noticeable. I am loving having my wee boy back and enjoying getting lots of helmet free cuddles.
