Össur’s celebrated Technology in Motion team are delighted to announce the launch of PlagioCare, their new treatment of Plagiocephaly, (otherwise known as Flat Head Syndrome) through their Nationwide clinics across the UK and Northern Ireland.
Technology in Motion from Össur is the leading provider of cranial remoulding in the UK, having now successfully treated over 3000 babies since 2004. Each individual baby achieved outstanding success from treatment by the single most experienced team in Europe.
Using advanced 3D camera technology, the baby-friendly method of imaging is as easy as taking a family snap shot and causes no distress to baby or parent. The portable 3D camera system also allows the clinicians to offer the treatment at a greater choice of locations, offering expansion from the existing six clinics in Cardiff, Birmingham, Leeds, Belfast, Glasgow and London.
Össur developed the PlagioCare helmets according to CE guidelines and the benefit of their extensive clinical experience. Each orthosis will be individually crafted for the affected baby, promising an improved treatment as the smooth, seam free lining offers the greatest comfort for the infant and a superior closure system which eliminates gaps, allows better control for the clinician and enhanced results for the patient. The helmet works just like a cast to bring about the improvement in head shape, but it is only a small part of the overall treatment package which heavily relies on the outstanding skills and experience of the clinical team.
LOCband Helmet has one Clinic in Kingston, Surrey and costs £1950.
